Sunless Tanning products work because DHA interacts with the
proteins and amino acids in the outer layer of your skin to
produce a golden brown color. This is called the “Maillard
Reaction”. The color this reaction produces on people will
differ depending on a number of different factors such as the
pH of the skin and the prevalence of certain amino acids that
produce different color melanoidins. This is basically why
spray tan is effective for Airbrush Tanning Systems.
